I often feel how much meaningful aging is whenever I meet Lee Kyeong Ja who is a lecturer of Art College, Kyungsung University.
What I really wish is that she becomes more remarkable as a member of this university through reflecting her past life and developing her own world of painting, though living too busy in modern times and spaces.
Lee Kyeong Ja graduated from Sookmyung Women's University. Setting up her own family earlier, she brought up two sons and grandsons. Then she became a late learner. Now I can find her live another life by keeping going the way to herself and filling in her later years with her own wonderful aesthetic consciousness like when she raised her two sons into distinguished doctors.
For Lee Kyeong Ja, dawn is very important because it makes her consciousness fresh. She appreciates the providence of the season and living creatures as she observes limitless changes in nature. Finding small living creatures endure the extreme cold winter, she is missing upcoming changes with emerald green color and the supreme delight of life.
Lee Kyeong Ja soaks and unifies herself with violets under the silence of spring and yellow cinqfoils facing dazzling sunshines and clear winds on the fields, ultimately developing her own aesthetic view which is tempered like poems.

Like a poetic expression, <If you are aware of an art that makes a flower blossom, you can achieve almost all things>, she is creating extremely wonderful works with her own pure aesthetic consciousness.
With her painting, I can feel that yearning for something is remained in her mind and that aesthetic consciousness is always important in her life as suggested in the fact that she equally uses ' girim', a dialect word kept in mind and sometimes used by natives of Busan, and 'drawing'. Thus her works make me feel enriched spiritually.
She is investing all her energy in making her time filled with new images. Lee Kyeong Ja is also trying to keep new living creatures and living tastes as she makes a round of mountains and hills in accordance with seasons. These efforts will be reflected in works by students of this university, I wish.
Wishing her life and painting will blossom more and more like clusters of flowers. |
